exercise
Exercise benefits the whole person. It not only helps the person to become physically fit but can increase confidence, self discipline, relationships and emotional health. The benefits of health reach far beyond what we see in the present.

Exercise does not need to be strenuous to gain the benefits. By participating in regular physical activity a persons’ health will improve in many ways. It can help control weight, reduce the risk of heart disease, help maintain proper cholesterol levels,
help to cope with arthritis, reduce the risk of developing diabetes and high blood pressure as well as decrease blood pressure in those already afflicted. It can also help older adults become stronger, preventing osteoporosis and give them better ability to be active without falling.

An important partt of regular exercise is controlling body weight. Maintaining a healthy weight makes coping with health problems easier.

Exercise burns calories. If a person takes in more calories than needed in a day, exercise offsets a caloric overload and controls body weight. It speeds the rate of energy used, increasing the metabolism. When metabolism increases the individual will maintain the faster rate for longer periods of a day. Those who participate in endurance-type exercise will increase fat-burning enzymes and in turn the body burns more energy while active or at rest.
